Christoph Tilly had 20 points in Santa Clara’s 96-54 victory over UC Riverside on Tuesday.

Tilly had 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks for the Broncos (2-3). Adama Bal scored 17 points, shooting 5 for 8 (3 for 4 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line. Johnny O’Neil went 5 of 6 from the field (4 for 5 from 3-point range) to finish with 14 points, while adding seven rebounds.

Joel Armotrading finished with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks for the Highlanders (2-3). Rikus Schulte added 11 points for UC Riverside. Barrington Hargress had 10 points and seven assists.

Santa Clara took the lead with 11:16 left in the first half and did not give it up. Tilly led the team in scoring with 12 points in the first half to help put it up 43-21 at the break. Santa Clara outscored UC Riverside by 20 points over the final half, while Bal led the way with a team-high 10 second-half points.

NO. 1 KANSAS 84, UNC WILMINGTON 66: Hunter Dickinson had 15 points and 15 rebounds, Dajuan Harris Jr. scored 16 points, and the Jayhawks shrugged off a sluggish start Tuesday night and delivered coach Bill Self his 800th career win.

David Coit added 13 points and Zeke Mayo had 10 for the Jayhawks (5-0), who led 43-38 at halftime before going on a 12-2 run to start the second half before the 372nd straight sellout at Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas stretched the lead to 20 and coasted to its 18th straight nonconference home win.

Khamari McGriff had 18 points and Noah Ross had 10 with nine boards for UNC Wilmington (4-1).

NO. 2 CONNECTICUT 81, EAST TEXAS A&M 46: Solo Ball scored 10 of his 12 points in the first half, Alex Karaban and Liam McNeeley added 11 points apiece, and Aidan Mahaney finished with 10 as the two-time defending NCAA champion Huskies (4-0) rolled.

NO. 9 KENTUCKY 97, LIPSCOMB 68: Jaxson Robinson scored 20 points, Lamont Butler (Riverside Poly HS) added 16, and Otega Oweh had 14 for the Wildcats (4-0).

The rout came a day after Kentucky vaulted 10 spots in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, a jump helped by a 77-72 win over No. 6 Duke in Atlanta that gave first-year coach Mark Pope a signature win.

Jacob Ognacevic had 17 points and Will Pruitt added 12 for the Bisons (2-5).

NO. 15 MARQUETTE 76, NO. 6 PURDUE 58: Kam Jones had 17 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists as Marquette snapped the Boilermakers’ 39-game regular-season nonconference winning streak.

Purdue (4-1) hadn’t lost a regular-season nonconference game since falling 58-54 at Miami on Dec. 8, 2020, compiling the fourth-longest such streak in NCAA history. The record is held by Syracuse, which won 52 straight nonconference regular-season games from Dec. 17, 2008, through Dec. 17, 2012.

Jones’ triple-double was the third in school history and first since Dwyane Wade had 29 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists when Marquette beat Kentucky 83-69 in a 2003 regional final to earn its most recent Final Four appearance.

Marquette’s only other triple-double came from Tony Miller against Wisconsin on Dec. 31, 1994.

Stevie Mitchell scored a career-high 21 points for Marquette (5-0). Chase Ross had 12 and Ben Gold added 11.

Trey Kaufman-Renn had 16 points, Fletcher Loyer 13 and Braden Smith 11 for Purdue.

Women’s Highlights

NO. 9 OKLAHOMA 79, WICHITA STATE 49: Payton Verhulst scored 16 points and Raegan Beers had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Sooners, who have won all four of their games by at least 30 points — something that has never occurred over a four-game stretch in school history.

NO. 7 LSU 98, TROY 59: Flau’jae Johnson scored 27 points and Aneesah Morrow had 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Tigers (5-0) late Monday night.

Johnson, who also had nine rebounds and five assists, scored 19 of her points in the first half as built a 58-24 lead at halftime. Morrow had her 78th career-double.
