


A pair of former Marin prep standouts had three-hit days to help the College of Marin baseball team pick up its fifth consecutive win — a 16-3 victory at Contra Costa on Thursday.
Derek Bartram (Novato High) and Danil Wells (Redwood) had three hits apiece to help lead the attack. Bartram drove in three runs and Wells drove in two.
COM (20-9-1, 10-1 Bay Valley) took a 5-0 lead into the top of the fifth then scored six more times to blow the game open. Logan Fiene had four hits and Kisho Li Kircher had three hits — including a homer — and drove in three runs. All told, the Mariners piled up 21 hits.
Starting pitcher Anthony Del Prete scattered eight hits across five innings, allowing one earned run and striking out four. The first-place Mariners wrap up the three-game set against Contra Costa (3-22, 1-10) at 1 p.m. Saturday in Kentfield.
Prep baseball
Jacob Pinguelo had the lone hit of the game for Marin Academy in a 10-0 loss against University in five innings on Thursday. The Wildcats (3-6, 0-3 BCL West) gave up five runs in the second, three in the third, and two in the fifth.
Prep softball
Marin Catholic scored six times in the fifth inning to break open a close game in a 10-3 victory against Tam on Thursday. Lyla Gonzalez had three hits for MC (7-3, 4-2 MCAL). Morgan Carlson, Anna Held, and Selena Peña had two hits each for MC.
Zoe Pletcher had three hits, a walk, and an RBI to lead Tam (7-3, 3-3).
• Thomara Drummer had four hits and limited Terra Linda to three hits as San Rafael won its third game in a row, 15-1 on Thursday. Drummer drove in a run and scored twice. Sophia Everett homered as part of a two-RBI, two-run day. Kennedy Parker reached base three times, driving in two and scoring twice. Amy Serrano had four RBIs for the Bulldogs (5-8, 2-4). Liv Offenbach had a hit and an RBI for TL (8-4, 2-4), which has dropped four consecutive games.
• Lila James hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh as Archie Williams rallied for a 5-4 win against American Canyon on Tuesday. James had three hits and three RBIs on the day. Paige Murphy and Kennedy Dunsing also had three hits apiece for the Peregrine Falcons (10-4), who trailed 4-2 in the middle of the third.
• Allie Tubach had two hits and drove in four to lead Novato to a 15-3 victory against Concord on Thursday. Georgiana Castro, Giana Flores, and Claire Hannan scored four runs apiece for the Hornets (3-11).
Boys tennis
Julian Zhang, Casra Afsharipour, Tugdual Ricordel, and Owen Adams swept the singles matches as Redwood posted a 7-0 victory against Archie Williams on Thursday.
• Witt Bulger and Diego Castillo won the top two singles matches, respectively, to lead Tam to a 5-2 victory against San Marin on Wednesday. The Mustangs got victories at Nos. 3 and 4 singles from Alexander Christfort and Shawn Bested.
Boys golf
Tam got low scores from its entire lineup in a 164-214 victory over San Marin on Mill Valley on Thursday. Hayden Thill and Ben Friedman took medalist honors with 32s — one better than teammates Max Berg and Abe Willard. Elliott Dasovich was Tam’s fifth scorer with a 34. Noah Duncan led San Marin with a 40.
• Dylan Siegel shot a 35 and Charlie Wilhelm added a 36 at par-30 Fleming Golf course to lead Marin Academy (8-0, 6-0 BCL West) to a 153-201 victory against Urban on Thursday.
• Brody Root carded a 34 to lead Redwood to a 183-214 victory over San Marin at Indian Valley on Wednesday. Noah Duncan paced the Mustangs with a 41.
