The following homicide was reported in the past week by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A 23-year-old Chicago Heights man was shot to death in that city and died the morning of July 14, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Juvenal Serrato, of the 1600 block of Thorne Street, was shot in the head at an address in the 600 block of Andover Street, according to the office.

He was pronounced dead at 11:14 a.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the office, which ruled his death a homicide

A message left with Chicago Heights police Friday seeking information about the shooting was not immediately returned.
