Deputies ask for public’s help to identify remains
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify female remains found in 2022.
Deputies found the remains after responding to a death investigation near the intersection of 1st Avenue and East 30th Street, east of U.S. 85, just outside of Greeley city limits, according to a Weld County Sheriff’s Office news release.
A forensic anthropologist determined the woman was white, had at least one child, was between 30 and 58 years old and was between 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 5 feet, 6 inches tall.
She was also wearing a sports bra of an unknown color, a black T-shirt depicting a tattooed Marilyn Monroe holding a gun, a red hoodie that said “lifeguard” and a black hoodie that had the number 17 and word “senior” on it.
An unhoused woman discovered and reported the remains in 2022. Before the remains were found, the site was an unimproved wooded area, according to the sheriff’s office. Now, an oil company and the site where Evans hosts its community clean-up events is nearby.
Anyone with information on the case can contact Detective at Brandon Stupka at 970-400-2832, the tip line at 970-304-6464 or email at Crimetips@weld.gov.
