A squirrel enjoys an afternoon snack at Susana Park in Martinez earlier this month. The little rodent spent part of its day searching for nuts buried in the grass and then carefully removing any debris, including the outer shell. Then it would find a quiet, shaded space to enjoy the meal, even though it appeared to be a bit leery of a pesky photographer crawling on the ground to get the shot.
