For Colorado men’s basketball, the Pac-12 is a thing of the past.

But those late, weeknight tipoffs at home are not.

On Wednesday, the Big 12 Conference released the tipoff times and television broadcast information for the 2024-25 season, with the Buffs and fellow Pac-12 transfers Arizona, Arizona State and Utah expanding the nation’s premier men’s college basketball league to 16 teams.

The Buffaloes’ 15th season under head coach Tad Boyle will feature a pair of 9 p.m. weeknight tipoffs at the CU Events Center — first against BYU on Jan. 21 (Tuesday), and again on Feb. 24 (Monday) against Kansas, the leading candidate to land the top spot in the nation when the Associated Press preseason top 25 is released next week.

Wednesday’s announcement also settles the tipoff times for CU’s home-heavy nonconference slate, most of which will tip off at 7 p.m.

The exceptions are a Nov. 17 date against Harvard (noon), the Dec. 7 showdown against Colorado State (6 p.m.), and the nonconference finale against Bellarmine on Dec. 21 (1 p.m.).

Except for the three ESPN-backed games CU will play at the Maui Invitational, the Buffs’ entire nonconference slate will air on ESPN+, Buff fans’ replacement for the shuttered Pac-12 Network.

Matchups on ESPN+ also will dominate CU’s Big 12 schedule, although the league opener at home against Iowa State on Dec. 30 will air on CBS Sports Network, with a 7 p.m. tipoff.

CU’s only Big 12 games not scheduled to appear on ESPN+ are the two 9 p.m. home games against BYU (ESPNU) and KU (ESPN), as well as CU’s visit to Kansas on Feb. 11 (ESPN or ESPN2).

The new-look Buffs open the season against Eastern Washington at home on Nov. 4 (7 p.m., ESPN+), the first of four consecutive home games to open the season before departing for the Maui Invitational, which begins on Nov. 25 against Michigan State (3 p.m., ESPN2).

CU’s Oct. 19 home exhibition game against Pomona-Pitzer, featuring Boyle’s son, Pete, also will air on ESPN+ (3 p.m.).
