Beverly Christine Ranzenberger, 78, died June 28, 2025, peacefully at her home.
Bev was born on September 29th, 1946, in Providence, Rhode Island to Warren and Hazel (Whitfield) Erickson.
Bev grew up a Military “Brat” in the U.S Army and traveled the world with her parents and younger sister Norma.
She was blessed to have lived in many different countries including Japan and Germany. Bev attended high school in Royal Oaks, Michigan where she graduated in 1964 from Lamphere High School. While in High School she was very involved with Student Government where she was the Secretary of her class, Cheerleader and on the Honor Roll.
After graduating High School, Bev attended The Deaconess School of Nursing in Downtown Detroit where she graduated with her RN and took her first job as a nurse in Michigan. Bev was Married to Paul Thomas Grothe in 1967 and had two beautiful Children Paul Thomas II (1969) and Christine Dawn (1971).
They made their home in Salinas, California and Bev’s career soon took off in the Healthcare Profession. She went back to school and received her Bachelors in Public Administration from St Mary’s University, and then her Master’s in Public Administration from The University of San Francisco. Bev worked at many places in the Salinas area over the years including Dr. Slaughters office, Natividad Medical Center, St Louise (Gilroy), and then her final place she called home Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital where she held the title until she retired as Chief Operating Officer.
Bev was an active member of the community. She was involved in The United Way, Salinas Downtown Rotary, Sun Street Centers and many others. She was very proud to work, volunteer, and live in the city of Salinas.
In December of 1981 Bev married Gary Ranzenberger who brought to the marriage her two bonus children Garin and Stacey. They blended their families together and became a family of six.
Bev is survived by her husband, Gary Ranzenberger; son Paul Grothe and wife Traci; daughter Christine Johnson; Stepson Garin Ranzenberger and wife Ali; Stepdaughter Stacey Profeta and husband Rob; her Sister Norma Erickson, and six grandchildren Blake Johnson, Riley Johnson, Madeline Grothe, Thomas Grothe, Kendall Profeta, and Claire Profeta.
Visitation will be held 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, Ca. 93901.
Chapel Service will be held 1:00p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Struve and Laporte Chapel.
Burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, Ca. 93907.
