Pavin Smith and Josh Naylor hit solo homers and the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Miami Marlins 6-4 on Thursday for their fifth straight win.

Smith drove in two runs as did Geraldo Perdomo. Naylor hit three of Arizona’s nine homers in the three-game sweep. The Diamondbacks stole five bases, three by Corbin Carroll.

Eduardo Rodriguez (1-2) got the win despite giving up 10 hits over 5 1/3 innings. A.J. Puk earned his fourth save with a scoreless ninth.

Rob Brantly had three hits and Xavier Edwards, Kyle Stowers and Javier Sanoja two each for Miami. Edwards extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

Phillies 6, Giants 4: Cristopher Sánchez (2-0) struck out a career-high 12 over seven innings and host Philadelphia scored five runs in the first innng as it beat San Francisco for a four-game split.

After Matt Chapman hit an RBI single in the first, the Phillies went ahead in the bottom half as their first five batters reached base on four singles and a walk. Kyle Schwarber had a two-run single, Nick Castellanos had an RBI single, Jordan Hicks (1-2) threw a run-scoring wild pitch and Alec Bohm had an RBI triple.

Mariners 11, Reds 7, 10 innings: Randy Arozarena hit a game-tying home run in the ninth inning then added a two-run double during a four-run 10th and visiting Seattle rallied past Cincinnati.

Jake Fraley’s grand slam off Eduard Bazardo put the Reds ahead 7-5 in the eighth.

Pirates 1, Nationals 0: Oneil Cruz hit a leadoff home run, Andrew Heaney pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings and host Pittsburg beat Washington. Cruz’s homer was his fourth of the season and second in consecutive games.

Heaney (1-1) gave up all five Nationals hits, walked two and struck out four.

Athletics 8, White Sox 0: Tyler Soderstrom hit his major league-leading ninth home run, helping the visiting Athletics to a win and a three-game sweep of struggling Chicago.

Lawrence Butler, JJ Bleday and Brent Rooker also homered for the A’s, who have won four of five and improved to 9-10.

The White Sox dropped to a major league-worst 4-14, losing their fourth straight game.

Orioles 6, Guardians 2: Ryan O’Hearn hit a go-ahead, three-run homer in the third inning and host Baltimore beat Cleveland for its first series win in six tries this season.

Gunnar Henderson added his first homer of the season and Heston Kjerstad also connected off Guardians ace Tanner Bibee (1-2).

Mets 4, Cardinals 1: Mark Vientos hit his first homer of the season to spark a four-run second inning and host New York beat St. Louis in the opener of a four-game series.

Brett Baty and Francisco Lindor had RBI singles in the second, which ended when Tyrone Taylor scored as Lindor got caught in a rundown between first and second.

Lindor had three hits.

Yankees 6, Rays 3: Ben Rice had his first big league four-hit game and drove in two runs, Oswaldo Cabrera hit a solo homer and visiting New York rallied to beat Tampa Bay in the Yankees’ first game as a visitor at their spring training home.

Junior Caminero hit a two-run homer for the displaced Rays, who are playing this season at Steinbrenner Field because Hurricane Milton tore off the roof panels at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg on Oct 9.

Tigers 6, Royals 1: Riley Greene broke out of an extended slump with three hits and two RBIs to lead host Detroit to a victory over Kansas City.

The Royals lost their fourth straight game and have dropped six of seven.
