Beau Leibick had three hits and Zander Scales drove in three runs as the Twin Cities 9-10s Little League team advanced to the section title game following a 9-4 victory against Benicia in American Canyon on Sunday.

Twin Cities took a 3-2 lead into the sixth inning then scored six times to blow the game open. Benicia scored twice in the bottom of the frame but the damage was done.

Ted Bedecarre singled to score Leo Storan to give Twin Cities a 4-2 lead. Twin Cities added runs on an error and a hit batsman before Scales cleared the bases with a three-run double to make the lead 9-2.

Bedecarre and Archie O’Neill had two hits each. Vaughn Johnson had a pair of RBIs. Johnson also pitched four innings in relief of starter Oliver Drullinger.

Twin Cities comes out of the elimination bracket to face Rincon Valley in Monday’s 5:30 p.m. title game in American Canyon. Rincon Valley defeated Twin Cities 8-7 on Saturday. Twin Cities needs to win Monday to force a winner-take-all game on Tuesday.

The Novato North majors team was denied a spot in Tuesday’s title game following a 6-0 loss to Lafayette at Joe Wagner Field in Larkspur on Sunday.

Novato North slides into the elimination bracket and faces either Petaluma National or Vacaville American at 5:30 p.m. Monday. The winner of that game advances to Tuesday’s title game needing a pair of victories to claim the championship.

The Novato North 11s were scheduled to face Petaluma National in an elimination game at 7 p.m. Sunday in Woodland. That result was not available at press time.

Baseball

The San Rafael Pacifics put up seven runs in the fifth inning and four more in the sixth en route to a 13-6 road win against the Vallejo Seaweed on Sunday.

Kyle Guerra and Jorge Rios had four hits apiece for the Pacifics (31-13 Pecos League), who had 15 hits as a team. Guerra, Rios, John Bicos, and Gino Hutchinson all drove in two runs each for San Rafael.

The win came after the Pacifics fell 11-1 at home against the Dublin Leprechauns on Saturday.

The Pacifics are set to host the Pecos League All-Star Game at 6 p.m. Wednesday night at Albert Park.
