The ceremony honored law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in 2024. Those included Golden police Officer Evan Dunn, who was struck and killed by a drunk driver while investigating a crash scene on Colo. 58 in the Golden area; and Denver patrol Officer Dale Coski, who succumbed to injuries she received when she was struck by a vehicle while she was assisting in replacing a flat tire on Interstate 70 in 1983. She was transported to a hospital, where she lost her left leg. She passed away due to complications of her paralysis in September 2024.
