Taliban underestimated: Just remember the Taliban, which translated means students, were in control of the vast majority of Afghanistan prior to the USA going there over 20 years ago. They fought against the Soviet Union in the Soviet-Afghan War and were prominent in the Afghan Civil War, so they just did not just reemerge overnight and should have not been over looked by Biden. Say what you want, he was in charge.
History forgotten: Progressives like to say they follow the science, but don’t define the science accurately. As to history, they don’t know much about it either. They blame Trump for Biden’s Afghanistan disaster because Trump negotiated with the Taliban and set a May 15 date for withdrawal, forgetting that the withdrawal was contingent on conditions being met, which they haven’t been.
Callous action: Thirteen dead soldiers arrived at Dover Air Force Base. While the coffins pass by, President Biden must have had something more important to do because he looked at his watch. I could not believe the callousness of this.
Mask fighting dangerous: As my husband and I venture out, we are both vaccinated and mask up. The mandate makes sense to us. The signs are up in grocery, home improvement, resale shops and dollar stores. Yet we still see so many unmasked. You cannot say anything to these peeps that continue to not follow rules. If we did, could we defuse the situation? We doubt it, but we would love to without ending in jail.
I haven’t forgotten: I see that Sirhan Sirhan is being released on parole. This guy probably changed the world back in 1968. That was a bad year, we also lost Dr. Martin Luther King. Unbelievable that they’re going to let this sick psycho go. I think they should lock him up and throw away the key and never hear from him again. He says he doesn’t remember it? Doesn’t matter. I do.
Ban ‘em from baseball: Eight members of the 1919 Chicago White Sox were banned for life from the game of baseball because they threw the 1919 World Series. Tom Ricketts, Jed Hoyer and the rest of the management of the Chicago Cubs have just as surely thrown the 2021 Chicago Cubs baseball season as those eight Black Sox did so many years ago. Why shouldn’t the Cubs management be subject to the same penalty?
