Roger Vincent Rother, 82, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, with his wife, Kathy Henry, at his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Lorraine.

Roger was born in Hastings, MN on August 21, 1942, and spent his childhood on the family farm He served in the National Guard for 3 years and was a volunteer firefighter for the city of Hastings for over 20 years.

He and Kathy married March 18, 2000. They shared a mutual love for the outdoors and their dogs.

Roger was well known in the community as a co-owner of Rother Meats and began working at the family owned butcher shop in 1958 at the age of 15. For decades he worked alongside his mother, father, brother (Wayne) and family friends. In the hay day of deer season, they would process 500 deer. Roger continued serving his customers for 52 years.

During this time, he built lifelong friendships.

Roger was an avid outdoorsman.

He especially enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, and golfing. He and Kathy spent their summers fishing for salmon in Door County, Wisconsin.

He loved playing cards with his family, especially Euchre and Pfeffer.

The beauty of the Tucson Mountains and the warm Arizona sunshine called to Roger after retirement, where he moved permanently.

He is survived by his wife (Kathy Henry) of 24 years; brother Wayne (Bev), sister Karon Foss; and nephews and nieces.
