Resident of Moraga
Bonnie A. Koojoolian, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 19, 2025. She was 84.
Born on September 14, 1940, in Alameda, California, to Donna and Glenn Thomas, Bonnie was the eldest of seven siblings: Kenneth Thomas (deceased), Sam Spear (deceased), Mary Spear, Donna Lopez, Nancy Rogers, and Julie Thomas.
She married Harold A. Koojoolian on March 3, 1962, and together they raised three children: Teresa (Ed) Belfanti, Paul (Mary Blaser) Koojoolian, and Amy Esnault.
Bonnie adored her six grandchildren—Michael (Melissa), Nicholas (Kelly), and Dominic Belfanti; William and Charles Esnault; and Kate Koojoolian—and was recently overjoyed by the arrival of her great-grandson, Wesley Belfanti. Her extended family includes many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bonnie was a devoted homemaker, a member of the Moraga School District Board, and active in community and charitable organizations, including the Moraga Garden Club and Shoes That Fit, which supported a Catholic school in East Oakland. Later in life, she worked at St.
Isidore School in Danville, retiring at age 81. In every chapter of her life, Bonnie formed lasting friendships.
Faith, family, and friendship were the cornerstones of Bonnie’s life, and her warmth and generosity leave a legacy of love and service.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 10:15 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church in Moraga. A private burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette.
