For the first time in its 136-year history, the Rose Parade will go all electric — at the front of its procession.

Honda, the official vehicle provider of the event for more than 30 years, will make history with its “Electrified Dreams” float as the first to be escorted by an all-electric fleet, which showcases the company’s commitment to zero emissions by 2050, Honda’s leaders said Wednesday.

“The Rose Parade is an annual opportunity for Honda to celebrate The Power of Dreams and, this year, the power of ‘electrified dreams’ that reflect our commitment to sustainable mobility,” Jennifer Symington, assistant vice president of Marketing for American Honda, said in a statement.

Designed to explore the harmonious interplay between organic and man-made materials, the float incorporates LED lights and roses to highlight the delicate ecosystem shared by all. It reflects Honda’s dedication to preserving the environment for future generations, company officials said.

As the presenting sponsor of the parade since 2011, Honda’s float traditionally leads the parade. This year, “Electrified Dreams” will dazzle the crowd alongside the new Honda Prologue, the brand’s first all-electric SUV, the first all-electric Acura model, the ZDX Type S performance SUV and more than 100 Honda Motocompacto e-scooters, which Rose Parade volunteers will also use throughout the festivities.

The float will take center stage during the 2025 Rose Parade Opening Spectacular, themed “Best Day Ever.” The kickoff performance will feature special Xtreme sport athletes performing stunts on trampoline surrounded by pyrotechnics. Aloe Blacc, known for the hit song, “Wake Me Up”, and platinum-recording artist Kiesza will also entertain the crowd.

“We hope to inspire everyone watching the Rose Parade that with our Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX, and the Honda Motocompacto e-scooter, the electrified future will help us achieve carbon neutrality, and deliver a whole lot of fun,” Symington added.

Headquartered in Torrance, American Honda has enjoyed a partnership with the Tournament of Roses for more than 60 years. Their collaboration began in 1962, when Honda provided two-wheeled vehicles for the parade. Honda itself debuted as a float participant in 1977 and has supplied the official Tournament of Roses vehicles since 1994.

In 2011, Honda became the Rose Parade’s first-ever presenting sponsor, and has since led the parade every year, showcasing its annual event theme.
