Street conditions

It’s so funny. Driving through Longmont every day, I find more holes and gashes in the street than I did before. There’s a gash that goes all the way across the intersection at 11th and Francis that has been there for the last four years. That’s funny, because for the last three years they’ve been raising our utilities 40% and absolutely nothing has been done to fix the streets. If you call up and report a pothole, the city comes right out and fixes it. They’re great about that. The city workers are great. It’s the people running the city that are pathetic. You should never get reelected again as long as you live. And the city manager? You should have your pay cut 50%, at least.

Longmont airport

• I think it’s about time that the airport has landing fees for the increased air traffic. I’m living here 35 years. It’s out of control. I live out in the county. I live close. They get a free ride. Longmont has been supporting the airport and paying for it out of taxes. I just don’t think that the community, yeah, they’re mad, but that’s too bad. You know, we all got to pay our fair share, and I don’t have to listen to their airplanes flying over my house from 5:30 in the morning till 10 o’clock at night, and I live out in the county, pretty far away from Vance Brand, so I don’t really care how mad they get. It’s not fair to the community, and it’s basically pooping noise all day just because they want to go for a ride.

• I think Longmont airport should be cost-effective and pay for itself. I see absolutely no reason why taxpayers should be funding that airport. It’s used by a very, very small proportion of the population, and taxpayer money should be used for things that benefit everyone and that there’s widespread consent for those expenditures. Whatever it takes to make that airport self-sustaining and pay for itself is what should what should happen, or it shouldn’t be allowed to operate at all.

Car chargers

Where are the car chargers for apartment dwellers? It appears installing car chargers wasn’t a requirement for developers in Longmont. City Council wants us to get rid of gas landscape equipment, which I gladly did, but it appears apartment dwellers are forced to buy and drive gas vehicles in Longmont. Is this true?

RTD rail

The RTD rail should have a main line along the I-25 corridor with transports for Boulder and Longmont and possibly other cities meeting up to that main corridor rail.
