Jack passed away at age 87 after valiantly fighting illness for over 4 years. Born on the island of Marettimo, Sicily, Jack moved to San Francisco in 1953, attended Francisco Junior High & Galileo High School, and enjoyed a long career in the fish industry both in San Francisco &Alaska. In 1959 he returned to Marettimo to marry the love of his life, Gilda. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Gilda, his daughter Marie Wilhelm (Ray), sons Sal (Rosa), Vince (Dana), and 6 grandchildren, Stephanie, Laurence, Max, Jack, Lexi & Calista, brother-in-law Joe, sister-in-law Phyllis, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in San Francisco, Monterey and Marettimo. He was preceded in death by his parents Salvatore and Maria, brothers Joe (Catherine), Sal (Sarah).
He will be remembered for his love of family, great sense of humor, and practical jokes. He touched many lives and will be sadly missed.
Rosary and funeral mass Thursday, February 27 at 10:30 AM Saints Peter and Paul Church 666 Filbert St., San Francisco, followed by burial at Italian Cemetery, Colma.
