


Christopher Audi shot a 4-under-par 67 to sit atop the championship flight leaderboard at the San Rafael City Championship at Peacock Gap on Saturday.
Audi held a two-shot lead over Jonathan Chen through the first round of play. The event concludes with the second round on Sunday.
Julio Ponce was the only other golfer to shoot under par in the championship flight, carding a 70. Former Marin Catholic High standout Peter Noerr shot a 73 and sits in fourth. Former Redwood standout — and defending champion — Arjun Aujla was tied for fifth after shooting a 73.
Matthew Regier shot a 67 to lead the men’s net flight by two strokes over Judson Quimby. Daniel O’Connor shot a 69 to lead the senior championship flight by a stroke over Tony Ralph.
Kevin Radich and Bill Coggan both shot even-par 71s to sit atop the senior net flight leaderboard with Casey Walters and Chris Schmidt both one stroke back.
Saki Suzuki shot a 67 and lead’s the women’s net flight by eight strokes over Sylvia Chu.
Baseball
The San Rafael Pacifics had to settle for a split as the Bakersfield Train Robbers took the second game of the series 7-4 on Friday night at Albert Park.
The Train Robbers surged in front after scoring five runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 6-3 lead. The Pacifics (32-14 Pecos League) outhit the Train Robbers 13-7 but committed four errors.
Kyle Guerra had four hits, including his 13th double of the season. Aki Buckson, Chris Wright and Fred Buckson all had two hits for San Rafael.
The Pacifics were set to close out a three-game homestand against the Vallejo Seaweed on Saturday night before traveling to Monterey for a game against the Amberjacks on Sunday afternoon.
