Jody Glasgow, of Longmont, died December 21, 2024, from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Depending on who was asking, she was either 65, 70, or her real age of 81 years old.
Jody was born Peggy Jo Mitchell in Wichita, Kansas, on March 5, 1943. She moved to Boulder as a young woman and in the late 1960s met and married Jack Glasgow, an audiologist and accomplished jazz piano player who had served as a member of the Air Force band. She worked many secretarial and administrative jobs over the years, including stints at the Harvest House hotel, Boulder's Dinner Theatre, and Boulder High School.
Jody loved singing and listening to all types of music, especially showtunes, country, and her favorite artist, Willie Nelson. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, studying the Bible, and spending time with her dogs. She was an enthusiastic member of the River Church in Lyons, where she made many close friends.
Jody leaves behind two sons and a daughter-in-law: Brian Glasgow, of Castle Rock, and Greg Glasgow and Kathryn Mayer, of Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Ruby Mitchell, her sister, Sherry Eastin, and her husband, Jack, who died in 2020.
A celebration of Jody's life will be held at 11 a.m. January 3 at the River Church, 18668 N. Saint Vrain Drive, Lyons, 80541.
