HOST contacted an unhoused individual who had been arrested by another Yolo County law enforcement agency. When the man was released from jail, he began to cause multiple calls for service over the course of several days. HOST contacted the man, who was elderly, and took time to have a conversation with him to understand his story.
HOST learned the man was an unhoused veteran. The man was unaware of the veteran services available to him, but he was interested in the services. The following day, HOST and our Crisis Clinician transported the man to Mather to receive his veteran status services and provide him the help he desired. HOST has provided a high level of support to those who are willing to accept services and made sure the individual was followed up with to help begin their path to success.
