Class 5A
Boulder Panthers
Coach: Emily Sampl
Last season’s result: Eighth place at the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: The Panthers will look to junior Sloan Zallen to take the reins after placing sixth in the 200-yard freestyle and third in the 500-yard freestyle at last year’s state meet.
The tea: The Panthers return to the pool after their best season in a while, including six new school records, and they’ll look to build upon that with most of the team returning, including seniors Embla Weibring and Charlotte Zana and sophomore Hazel Huilman.
Fairview Knights
Coaches: Franny Bentley, Stacey Tobey
Last season’s result: Fourth at the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: Junior Amelia Mason returns after notching four top-five finishes at the state meet.
The tea: Senior Morgan Cady, Lexi Byrn and junior Caroline Younge join a strong group of seniors that Bentley hopes will lead the Knights to even more success this season.
Legacy Lightning
Coach: Leigh Dodd
Last season’s result: Front Range League champions; placed seventh at the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: Seniors Bella Forsman and Kaitlyn Eiring have already committed to swim in college.
The tea: The Lightning will look to come back stronger after injuries kept several ladies out of the water. Behind Forsman and Eiring, dual-sport athlete Keira Wilkinson (swimming, cross country) is being recruited by colleges as a triple threat in triathlon.
Class 4A
Broomfield Eagles
Coach: Emily Austin
Last season’s result: Third place at the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: The Eagles boast a “fab four” of sophomores that all performed well throughout their freshman seasons: Ellie Foulke, Lola Grace Guthrie, Ridley Hagerman and Myra Wherry.
The tea: The Eagles return a strong core of swimmers and divers and will look to add some youth into the heat sheets. They hope to place top five at state again with the help of freshman Karlie Chandra, senior Page Gutmann, junior Izzy Schroeder and junior Addy Shaffer.
Centaurus Warriors
Coach: Cort Sharp
Last season’s result: Eighth at the state meet, Northern Colorado Athletics Conference champions.
Testing 1-2-3: Senior captain Kieren Berg has helped propel the Warriors forward as a vocal leader and hopes to improve upon her state marks from last year, the highest of which she earned in the 200 medley relay (sixth).
The tea: Sharp believes the Warriors will get their biggest boon from their sophomore and junior classes as junior Virginia Walsh, sophomore Brayde Patik, sophomore Ayla Cole, junior Abby Fitzgerald and senior Zoe Maddocks round out the top of the roster.
Erie Tigers
Coach: Brittany Schroeder
Last season’s result: 19th at the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: Senior Devyn Nabarrete will take the reins of the program as she focuses on breaststroke and the individual medleys.
The tea: Schroeder looks forward to seeing the ladies achieve their personal records throughout the season, and will look to Nabarrete, senior Shelby VonLintel, Sami Wotruba and Mackenzie Littman to guide the way.
Longmont Trojans
Coach: Carly Hemphill
Last season’s result: 15th at the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: Senior Jordan Bindseil returns after winning the 100 free state crown and placing second in the 50 free.
The tea: Behind Bindseil, Hemphill will look to her relay swimmers, seniors Freya Temple-Weed, Emma Bushlack, junior Mira Capra and sophomore Adalee Mathias to take the reins of the program.
Monarch Coyotes
Coach: Amber Austin
Last season’s result: Fifth place at the state meet, state champions in the 200 medley relay.
Testing 1-2-3: The Coyotes will look to sophomore Audrey Shambo and junior Eliza Lennox to make the most waves this year after they both earned four top-five finishes at the state meet.
The tea: The Coyotes hope to build off of last year’s strong finish behind their top two swimmers, along with sophomore Sam Blakely, sophomore Ida Bodizs, junior Gwyn Christensen, junior Avery Zerwekh Reardon and senior Taylor Younkin.
Niwot Cougars
Coach: Ella Thramann
Last season’s result: Fourth place at the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: Senior Charlotte Heuer earned four top-six finishes in her state meet performance last year.
The tea: The Cougars will look to rebuild after losing some talent last year, but will have Heuer lead a band that includes junior Devi Burnett, sophomore Emmy Hostelley and junior Shefali Joshi.
Silver Creek Raptors
Coach: Debbie Stewart
Last season’s result: Ninth place at the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: Senior Leslie Broz placed second in the 1-meter dive at last year’s state meet.
The tea: The Raptors will look to the divers to take the lead after losing 13 seniors, and will also seek guidance from senior Mary Rosa, junior Annika Sesselmann, sophomore Kaitlyn Vandenbos and senior Savannah Wolf.
Skyline Falcons
Coach: Michelle Urbina
Last season’s result: Did not qualify any girls for the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: Urbina will look to junior Isha Shah to help lead 10 new ladies.
The tea: Seniors Sydney Zeroll, Eden Barry and Abigail Kolby will all join Shah at the top of the lineup as the ladies hope to place well at their league meet.
Class 3A
Frederick Golden Eagles
Coach: Allison Eichner
Last season’s result: Finished 33rd at the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: Addisyn Murray qualified for four events at state as a freshman last year.
The tea: Murray joins a list of sophomores that Eichner believes can carry the team forward, along with Avery Corliss, junior Yadhira Carrazco and Kylie Dionysius.
Holy Family Tigers
Coach: Mary Whitney
Last season’s result: Fifth at the state meet.
Testing 1-2-3: Senior Cate Chapman and sophomore Lorelai Frauenfelder both earned four top-five finishes at state, as Frauenfelder looks to be Holy Family’s first-ever state champion.
The tea: Whitney hopes an experienced group of upperclassmen can help propel the younger girls to success as they also lean on senior Ivy Wood, junior Erin Chapman and sophomore Kailyn Tucker.
