Brandon Duhaime had a goal and an assist and John Carlson and Ethen Frank also scored for the Capitals.
John Gibson made 22 saves for the Ducks, who lost for a fifth time in seven games.

CANADIENS’ HEINEMAN HIT BY CAR, OUT WEEKS: Montreal Canadiens player Emil Heineman is expected to miss three to four weeks after being hit by a car while walking in downtown Salt Lake City a day before playing at the Utah Hockey Club.
The team announced that the 23-year-old forward was out with an upper-body injury after being involved in a pedestrian accident. The Canadiens defeated Utah 5-3 on Tuesday night.
