Rebecca (Becky) Farrow Massey, 69, went home to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, after a 14-year battle with cancer.

She was born on May 14, 1954, in Dallas, Texas to Edwin (Ed) Farrow and Eugenia (Genie) Farrow. Becky graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, where she was voted wittiest out of her class of eight hundred. She went on to graduate from Texas Christian University with a degree in interior design. While living in Dallas after graduating from TCU, Becky met the love of her life, Thomas (Tom) Massey, Jr., and they married on June 5, 1981.

Becky had a successful career as an interior designer. After being trained by some of the best interior designers in Dallas, she started Farrow-Massey Interiors, which allowed her to create beautiful residential and commercial spaces for her clients, many of whom became close friends.

Family was always paramount for Becky. She was, and will always be remembered as, an amazing daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love of family led her and Tom to move to Poncha Springs, Colorado in December of 1992. This move allowed them to raise their children on the family ranch surrounded by incredible scenery and countless outdoor activities.

Second only to her family was her love of horses. She grew up riding and showing Arabian horses.

After moving to Colorado, she was able to ride her horses frequently and she taught each of her children to ride as well.

Becky was highly involved in social and civic organizations throughout her life. While at TCU she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. In Dallas, she was a member of the Slipper Club, the Junior League of Dallas, and the Dallas Garden Club. After moving to Colorado, she served as a member of the Salida School Board and the Poncha Springs Town Council.

Becky was preceded in death by her mother and father, Eugenia W. Farrow and Edwin M. Farrow, and sister, Beverly Farrow Butler. She is survived by her husband, former State Representative Thomas W. Massey, Jr.; sons, Edwin Cabell Massey and Thomas Boone Massey and his wife, Channing; daughter, Rebecca Sarah Eugenia Massey; grandchildren, Gibson Dale Massey, Stetson Boone Massey, and Carsyn Marie Massey; brother, Robert (Bob) Edwin Farrow and wife, Alison; and nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Farrow Maclay and husband, Douglas, Robert Joseph Farrow and wife, Kayli, and Samuel Brannon Farrow. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 16th, at 2:00pm in the Truett Chapel at First Baptist Church of Dallas. A celebration of Becky’s life will also be held on Saturday, February 24th, at 2:00pm at the Salida Scout Hut in Salida, Colorado.
