When the kids get overwhelmed with too much to see and do at the Minnesota State Fair, take a break for family fun at the Alphabet Forest, where there are alphabet activities for all ages. You can take pictures with Fair letters, create alphabet Ferris Wheels and add your words to the Fair Dictionary. Every day there will be a Minnesota writer at the Blue Ribbon Homegrown Author Showcase. Also returning is the popular Fabulous Fair Alphabet Game, which involves finding words around the Fairgrounds and filling out a game card.

Here are the Showcase authors who will appear daily beginning Aug. 22 with David LaRochelle, followed by: Debra Frasier, Shayla Michelle, Andrew and Sheletta Brundidge, Kayla Harren, V.T. Bidania, Kevin Cannon, Artika Tyner, Colleen Muske, Anthony Walsh, Crown Shepherd, and Kurtis Scaletta.

The Alphabet Forest is in Baldwin Park, between Randall and Wright avenues and Cooper and Cosgrove streets. Highlighted authors will appear at various times during their day at the forest. For information go to minnstatefair.org/schedule/?location=alphabet-forest.
