


DENVER >> Colorado bankruptcy filings increased 10% in June, compared with the same period a year ago.
The state recorded 723 bankruptcy filings during June, compared with 656 for the same period a year ago. Individual filings totaled 715, up from 639 in June 2024. Business filings totaled eight, down from 17 the prior year.
That’s according to a BizWest analysis of U.S. Bankruptcy Court data. Numbers cited include all new filings, including open, closed and dismissed cases.
In the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado, filings increased in Boulder and Larimer counties, and decreased in Broomfield and Weld counties.
• Boulder County recorded 30 bankruptcy filings in June, up 88% from 16 the prior year. Boulder County recorded 31 bankruptcy filings in May 2025. Year-to-date filings total 162, up 32.8% from 122 for the same period last year.
• The City and County of Broomfield recorded three bankruptcy filings in June, down from 10 the prior year. Broomfield recorded 14 bankruptcy filings in May 2025. Year-to-date filings total 55, up 19.6% from 46 for the same period last year.
• Larimer County filings totaled 52 in June, up 86% from the prior year. Larimer recorded 49 bankruptcy filings in May 2025. Year-to-date filings total 252, up 20.6% from 209 for the same period last year.
• Weld County bankruptcy filings totaled 60 in June, down 3% from 62 a year ago. Weld recorded 58 bankruptcy filings in May 2025. Year-to-date filings total 338, up 7% from 316 for the same period last year.
June filings included:
• Longs Peak Cabinetworks LLC of Loveland, which filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation, June 25, listing assets of $3,788.98 and liabilities of $1,095,242.60. Case No. 25-13903-CDP, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Denver.
