Lamar Jackson threw for 281 yards and five touchdowns, helping the Baltimore Ravens overcome an early double-digit deficit and extend their winning streak to five games with a 41-31 victory late Monday night over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who lost their top two receivers to injuries.

Jackson, a two-time NFL MVP, is 3-0 against the Bucs (4-3), who faded after taking a 10-0 lead with help from the 100th TD reception of Mike Evans’ career.

Evans departed with a hamstring injury after Baker Mayfield tried to connect with him in the end zone again, and late in the fourth quarter with the game out of reach, leading Bucs receiver Chris Godwin was carted off the field with a left ankle injury.

Godwin will undergo surgery on a dislocated left ankle, a procedure that will likely sideline him for the rest of the regular season.

Coach Todd Bowles said the Bucs are holding out hope that Godwin might be able to return if Tampa Bay winds up playing deep into January.

Meanwhile, Evans is expected to be sidelined for at least the next three games against Atlanta, Kansas City and San Francisco before possibly returning after Tampa Bay’s bye week when the Bucs face the New York Giants on Nov. 24.

Jackson completed 17 of 22 passes without an interception, including TD throws of 9 and 4 yards to Mark Andrews. He also tossed scoring passes of 49 yards to Rashod Bateman, 18 yards to Justice Hill and 11 yards to Derrick Henry, who rushed for 169 yards on 15 carries. Bateman had four catches for 121 yards.

CARDINALS 17, CHARGERS 15 >> Kyler Murray ran for a 44-yard touchdown and led the Cardinals on a drive that set up Chad Ryland’s 32-yard field goal as time expired in Glendale, Ariz., late Monday night.

Cameron Dicker kicked his fifth field goal of the night — this one from 40 yards — to give the Chargers a 15-14 lead with 1:54 left. But the Cardinals (3-4) quickly moved into field goal range, aided by an unnecessary roughness call on Cam Hart that cost Los Angeles (3-3) 15 yards.

Arizona followed that with a bruising 33-yard run by James Conner, who finished with 101 yards on the ground. That eventually set up Ryland’s short field goal and a Cardinals celebration.

Browns sign QB Zappe >> Cleveland signed QB Bailey Zappe off Kansas City’s practice squad, with starter Deshaun Watson out for the season because of a ruptured Achilles tendon and backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson dealing with a finger injury on his throwing hand.

The team placed Watson on injured reserve, a procedural but necessary move for the Browns, who have lost five straight in what has quickly gone from a promising season to a problematic one.

Watson is scheduled to have surgery this week.

Rams’ Nacua to return to practice >> L.A. Rams receiver Puka Nacua was designated to return to practice after missing five games with a knee injury.

Los Angeles hosts Minnesota on Thursday night at SoFi Stadium.

Nacua was slowed in training camp by a knee injury this year. He caught four passes for 35 yards in the Rams’ season opener against the Lions before leaving the game in the first half with a knee injury, eventually going on injured reserve.

Cardinals LB Gardeck lost for season >> The Arizona Cardinals defense absorbed another tough setback with the news that linebacker Dennis Gardeck will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

Gardeck was injured early in the second half of Arizona’s 17-15 win over the Chargers on Monday night. It’s the third time the linebacker has suffered an ACL injury, including once in 2020 and another instance in high school.

It’s the fourth season-ending injury for a prominent Arizona defensive player. Linebacker BJ Ojulari tore knee ligaments during the preseason and then defensive linemen Justin Jones (tripces) and Bilal Nichols (stinger) were ruled out in recent weeks.
