Resident of Antioch

Virginia Dodson, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Virginia was born in Brentwood, CA, but lived the majority of her life in Antioch with her husband and children. Virginia married her loving husband Milt in 1956; they were married 57 years.

Virginia worked for a bank and then later for the Antioch School District before retiring to spend more time with her family. After retiring she and her husband regularly traveled to Yuma, AZ with friends, and of course to their beloved family cabin. The cabin was her happy place where they had created so many wonderful family memories.

Virginia lived an honorable and blessed life. She cared for her children, her grandchildren, her mother, and her husband Milt. Virginia was his wife, best friend, and later in life his caregiver. They were soul mates. Virginia was many things to many people, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend but beyond that she was a gift to all who met her, knew her, and loved her.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents James and Isabel Walker, her daughter Sheri Lynn Dodson, and her husband Milton Dodson. She is survived by her sons Ron Dodson (Maureen Dodson), Michael Dodson (Desiree Dodson), and her four grandchildren, Trevor, Christopher, Tanner, and Kelsey Dodson.

You will be missed Virginia. Even a long life isn’t long enough when it comes to spending time with the ones you love. Your loving and caring heart touched so many people. Thank you for making the world a better place by being in it!

Services will be held at Higgins Funeral Chapel in Antioch, CA, on June 11, 2025, at 11:00am. Committal to follow at Oak View Memorial Park and a Celebration of Life will take place in Benicia, CA.
