Passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, while a patient at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Born in St. Paul to Thomas W. and Martha Bastasz, he attended St. Thomas Academy and the College of St. Thomas, receiving BA and MBA degrees in business. After graduating, he worked with his father at their small business providing office dictation equipment to companies in the Twin Cities. In 2000, he married Carole Halmrast and they lived in Chanhassen until her death in 2012.<br><br>They enjoyed traveling together, especially on road trips. In his younger days Tom enjoyed playing golf and later he became skilled at playing bridge. He is survived by his brother Robert, other relatives, and many friends.<br><div><br></div>
