On the mound: German Marquez, returning from an elbow injury that cost him most of the last two seasons, was not sharp. The right-hander missed location with his fastball and didn’t command his breaking pitches as well as in his first two Cactus League starts. Over 2 1/3 innings, Marquez gave up four earned runs on five hits, walked three and had two strikeouts. His spring ERA is 5.68. … Legend High School’s Lucas Gilbreath, working his way back from a shoulder injury, pitched one inning. The lefty gave up two runs on three hits with one strikeout.

At the plate: Shortstop Ezequiel Tovar hit his first Cactus League homer, launching Logan Webb’s 1-1 fastball 416 feet to center. … Kris Bryant started at first base, going 1 for 2 with a walk. Bryant is hitting .176. … Sam Hilliard continues to struggle. The veteran outfielder, trying to make the team as a backup in center field, went 0 for 1 with a walk and a strikeout. Hilliard is hitting .080 (2 for 25) with 13 strikeouts and no extra-base hits.

Monday at Tempe Diablo Stadium

On the mound: Right-hander Antonio Senzatela has been Colorado’s best starter. After missing most of the last two seasons because of injuries, Senzatela has a 0.75 ERA across 12 innings. Monday, he pitched four innings, allowing one run on two hits with one walk. He fanned six. … Right-hander Jaden Hill, who made his big-league debut last season, served up a home run.

At the plate: Backup catcher Hunter Goodman continued his solid spring at the plate. He’s hitting .386 after his 1-for-3 afternoon.

Prospect watch: Lefty Carson Palmquist was hit hard in his one-third inning. The Angels tagged him for four runs on two hits, including a home run.
