Alan D. Hiura, DDS, 73, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024. Alan was born onMay 16, 1951, in San Francisco, California, to Pearce and Tsuyu Hiura.
Alan is survived by his wife, Junko Hiura; his children, Jaclyn Hiura, Julie Hiura and her husband, Timothy Bossie, and Alexander Hiura; his grandchildren, Bennett Hirabara and Olivia Bossie; his brother, Ronald Hiura, and his wife, Cynthia Hiura; and his sister, Diane Hiura.
Alan is also survived by numerous other family members and friends whom he loved dearly.
Alan attended undergraduate school at the University of California, Berkeley. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific and went on to specialize in endodontics at Temple University.
Alan practiced as an endodontist in San Jose, California, since 1978, taking great pride in providing care to his patients.
An avid golfer, Alan was a member of the Almaden Country Club for 41 years and even served as the Club’s President. He was also a passionate Golden State Warriors fan and took great joy in celebrating their championships.
Above all, Alan cherished spending time with his friends and family, who brought him endless laughter and happiness.
Alan's optimistic outlook on life, positive spirit, and genuine kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
A private ceremony will be held for the family.
