For decades, the members of Sweet Honey in the Rock have been putting the swing into songs with themes that range from social justice to the spiritual, uplifting audiences all along the way. Mardi Gras

Didn’t get invited to an Oscar Party? A $30 ticket for members includes a glass of bubbly, a hors d’oeuvres buffet, desserts and a live stream of the show. Rock ‘n’ surf

Rhythm and blues

Told by Nashville powers-that-be that she didn’t fit the American country music mold, Miko Marks eventually responded with 2021’s “Our Country,” a record that earned her raves, and two years later a spot on the venerable Grand Ole Opry stage.
