The boys and girls lacrosse season is underway.
The 10 players below aren’t necessarily the top players in the area. But all of them should be intriguing to follow throughout the spring season.
Sam Behler, Jefferson Academy boys: Behler led the Jaguars with 11 goals last season.
Emma Brusate, Holy Family girls: She’s the leading returning scorer for the Tigers after netting 37 goals in her freshman season.
Lucy Connors, Mead girls: The Mavs senior dominated offensively last year with 76 goals and 35 assists.
Emmy Leonard, Fairview girls: The freshman attacker already has six goals to her name through three games, as does fellow freshman midfielder Josie Craytor.
Flynn Leonard, Monarch boys: Leonard led the Coyotes with 58 goals and 20 assists last year.
Kai Modica, Fairview boys: The junior had 30-plus goals in each of his first two season in the attack for the Knights. Last spring, he led the team with 38 goals and 22 assists. His coach, Matthew Kelley, said he leads “one of the best offensive units Boulder County has seen.”
Luke Nathan, Boulder boys: The senior had a career season as junior, tallying 33 goals and 23 assists for the Panthers. With 84 goals through four games this season, he’s just 16 away from 100 in his career.
Sam Rich, Fairview boys: The Knights have three starting-caliber goalies this season, which includes senior Jackson Viverito and sophomore Ki Ellison, the school’s starting QB in football. Rich is headed to play at Colorado College next year.
Cooper Riley, Erie boys: Named to CHSAA 4A first team after the Tigers won it all a year ago, the senior midfielder had 20 goals and seven assists in 2024. He scored in the team’s 14-6 win over Northfield in the finals.
Browen Wills, Holy Family boys: The junior had 44 goals last season and 31 as a freshman. Last spring, he had a career-most six goals in a win over Thompson Valley. Over two seasons, he scored five in a game three different times.
