The Woodland Christian School Board of Directors recently announced that David Hargadon will be returning to fill the role of administrator.

“Our current administrator (Ryan Devine) wanted to return to being a principal,” the Vice President of the WCS board, Issac Rainwater, stated. “This opening provided an opportunity for us to explore whether David Hargadon would be interested in returning to the school. We approached Mr. Hargadon to see if he might be interested, and he gladly accepted the position.”

Hargadon has served at Woodland Christian School in various capacities. His four children all attended WCS. He has served on the school board and spent 12 years at the school as Director of Operations and Development.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Managerial Economics from U.C. Davis and spent 22 years in law enforcement (retiring as a sergeant with the Sacramento Police Department). Hargadon has over 20 years of experience in educating and training law enforcement personnel nationwide.

“It’s great to be back!” Hargadon stated. “I look forward to building upon the foundation laid by the leaders and staff that got us to this point.”

Hargadon comes from a long line of family members who were called to education.

“It’s in my DNA. My grandfather was the headmaster of Friends School in Pennsylvania, my dad taught college-level accounting and international business, my uncle was dean of admissions for Stanford and Princeton, and the list goes on.”

As a father of four children, Hargadon knows firsthand what parents go through when determining where to send their kids.

“I remember we were going to interview every principal in the area,” he recalled. “Our kids were going to get the best. I met Jack Hamlin (the first administrator for WCS) and knew immediately that this is where our kids needed to be. I hope families have a similar experience when they meet me and our staff.

“We view the education of children as a partnership with the parents/guardians. It is one of the greatest honors to work side by side with our parents to educate and prepare our students. We need to return to some of the basics, including an emphasis on faith and God’s word, the development of student character, the importance of serving others, and a solid education. How will we do it? We will love God, love people, and create an environment where students love to learn.”
