Rev. Dr. Arleen Cuffaro Pitcock Bump Austin, born in Santa Clara, CA, to the late Philip and Genevieve Cuffaro, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025. In addition to being a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Arleen dedicated 48 years to her spiritual ministry through the Church of Religious Science International and Center for Spiritual Living.
Arleen became an ordained minister in 1976, earned an honorary Doctorate of Religious Science in 1985, and an honorary Doctorate of Divinity in 1997. She served on the Board of Directors of the International Centers for Spiritual Living (ICSL) for 18 years and as president of ICSL from 1994 to 1997. Among many other awards and recognitions, Arleen received the Dr. Ernest Holmes Legacy Award in 2001, Religious Science International's highest award for excellence in ministry.
After serving churches in Monterey, El Cajon, and Glendale, CA, she went on to run the Centre for Positive Living in Calgary, Canada, for ten years before becoming senior pastor of her treasured Center for Spiritual Living Fort Lauderdale in 1994, where she remained until her retirement in2018.
Arleen is survived and missed by her devoted husband, Dr. Harvey W. Austin, MD, her two children, Bruce (Sarah) Pitcock, Phyllis (Paul) Gasperini, niece Lorri (Rich) Langin, and their two daughters, Madelyn and Claire. She also leaves behind three nephews, Randy, Steve, and Chris Cuffaro. Arleen is predeceased by her brother Joe (Marge) Cuffaro, as well as her former husbands, Oscar Pitcock and Nelson Bump.
Her memory lives on in the countless lives she's touched and transformed throughout her professional and personal life.

The Florida service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Center for Spiritual Living Fort Lauderdale (CSLFTL) at 4849 N. Dixie Highway in Oakland Park.
