Golf season is here, and boys golfers in Michigan are finally breaking the clubs back out.

It’s still early, but these teams have been at the top of their game so far throughout some early competitions.

These teams have the best scoring averages thus far in 9-hole events.

1. Anchor Bay Tars (154.7 average, 3 rounds)

Gavin Sherby played one round, but it was a good one — he shot a 35 at Bello Woods in a MAC White 9-hole round against L’Anse Creuse North. Jack Higgins has been excellent through three, shooting an average of 36.7.

2. Eisenhower Eagles (159.3 average, 3 rounds)

Adam Morrison leads Ike with a 37.7 average through three rounds. Grant Pagel shot a 38 in his one outing thus far.

3. Lutheran North Mustangs (162 average, 4 rounds)

Lance Milton has played four rounds, shooting an average of 37.8 through them thus far. His best outing thus far was at Kensington Metropark, shooting a 34.

4. L’Anse Creuse North Crusaders (163 average, 4 rounds)

Junior Scott Higuchi and freshman Matt Higuchi don’t just share a last name — they each have a 39.2 average through four games.

5. De La Salle Pilots (164.4 average, 5 rounds)

Sophomore Julian Sinishtaj is off to a strong start through three meets, shooting an average of 36.3. His best outing was a 34 on April 14 at Hawk Hollow GC in Bath. His average is currently 26th best in the state.

6. Stevenson Titans (169 average, 5 rounds)

Alex Girardi has been busy, playing six rounds already. His first round was his best round, shooting a 39 at Sycamore Hills’ north nine in Macomb.

7. Utica Chieftains (169.5 average, 4 rounds)

Braeden Kurmas has been consistent, scoring between 39 and 41 in each of his four rounds.

8. L’Anse Creuse Lancers (170 average, 2 rounds)

Tyler Conklin’s 40.5 average through two rounds leads the team.

9. Dakota Cougars (173.4 average, 8 rounds)

Austin Bartsch is averaging 42 but has shot under 40 in two of his six rounds.

10. Chippewa Valley Big Reds (181.5 average, 2 rounds)

Aiden Brown shot 42 and 43 in his two rounds.
