Senior Owen Rogers had a hit and four RBI, and Santa Cruz High’s baseball team remained unbeaten in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League with its 14-2 win over crosstown foe Harbor on Friday.

The Cardinals (10-4, 7-0) have scored eight or more runs in seven of their past nine games.

Senior August Swanson had a hit, two walks, one RBI, and scored twice for the Cardinals. Junior Caleb Cmaylo had a hit, one walk, two RBI, and two runs scored. Senior Seth Jin and junior Cameron Fusari each had a hit, one walk, one RBI, and two runs scored. Junior Jesse Parisi had a hit, two RBI, and scored a run.

Cole McCombs had two hits for the Pirates (11-5, 3-4). Robert Andrade doubled and drove in a run, and Vivian Mould had a hit and scored a run.Senior Jason Graff earned the complete-game win. He gave up five hits, two walks, and two runs, one earned, and struck out six batters.

Harbor hosts Monta Vista (12-5) of Cupertino in a nonleague game on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Santa Cruz, ranked No. 14 in the Central Coast Section by maxpreps.com, hosts No. 7 Leigh (14-2) at Bill Dodge Field in a nonleague game on Saturday at noon.

Soquel 14, at San Lorenzo Valley 1 >> The Knights, ranked No. 6 in the CCS, smacked 16 hits and drew two walks in their SCCAL win Friday.

Hudson Summerrill had two hits, two RBI, and scored twice for Soquel (16-1, 5-1). Connor Corlett had one hit, three RBI, and scored twice.

Gabe Virgallito had two hits, one RBI, and scored three runs. Noah Piona had three hits and scored twice. Sam Whelan had two hits, two RBI, and scored a run. Enzo Goff had two hits, one RBI, and scored a run. Cash Moran doubled, drove in two runs, and scored a run.

Larrabee Mitchell doubled and scored for the Cougars (2-13, 0-6). Bennett Woolfolk had a hit and one RBI.

Winning pitcher Nativo Gonzalez gave up three hits and one run over five innings while striking out seven batters. He didn’t allow a walk.

Soquel hosts Hughson (20-3), ranked No. 33 in the Sac-Joaquin Section, in a nonleague game on Saturday at 1 p.m. SLV plays at Aptos (5-9, 2-5) on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Boys swimming

At Harbor 76, Scotts Valley 58 >> Elias Keen Server took first in the 50-yard freestyle (22.32 seconds) and 100 backstroke (1:01.06), and the Pirates won their SCCAL meet Friday.

Logan Manildi took first in the 500 free (5:35.66) for the Pirates, who also won in the 200 medley relay (1:50.13).

Scotts Valley’s Brandon Kong took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.00) and 200 individual medley (2:13.06), and Brent Kong took first in the 100 freestyle (49.0) and 200 free (1:46.94), a CCS qualifying time.

The Falcons’ Torsten Lugesson took first in the 100 butterfly (59.40), and Scotts Valley took first in the 200 freestyle relay (1:34.12), a CCS qualifying time, and 400 freestyle relay (3:37.85).

Harbor hosts Aptos on Friday at 4:30 p.m., as well as the SCCAL Championships on May 3 at 10 a.m.

At Soquel 94, Santa Cruz 71 >> Cassius Wolfe, Styder Stelk, and Oliver Santana each won two individual events in the Knights’ SCCAL win Friday.

Wolfe took first in the 50 free, 22.15) and 100 free (48.45), Stelk took first in the 200 free (1:53.59) and 500 free (5:33.14), and Santana took first in the 100 fly (50.62) and 100 breast (57.76).

Soquel also won in the 200 free relay (1:32.33), and 400 free relay (3:23.21).

Santa Cruz’s Jack Yoshimura took first in the 100 back (58.19), Martin Cruz took first in the 200 IM (2:04.03), and the Cardinals won in the 200 medley relay (1:57.31).

Girls swimming

At Soquel 116, Santa Cruz 46 >> The Knights swept all three relays, winning the 400 relay in a CCS qualifying time (3:53.93), 200 free relay (1:48.39), and 200 medley relay (1:58.78), in the their SCCAL meet win Friday/

Soquel’s Liz Penny took first in the 100 free (57.02) and 500 free (5:58.62).

The Knights also earned invididual wins from

Natasha Ackerstein (50 free, 25.57), Ayla Nelson (100 fly, 1:02.81), Makalya Hansen (100 back, 1:11.84), Taylor McMillan (100 breast, 1:22.33), and Izzie Bridi Milligan (200 free, 2:09.45).

Tessa Jefferies took first in the 200 IM (2:31.03) for the Cardinals.

At Harbor 97, Scotts Valley 16 >> Abigail Higgins and Zia Jaggar each won two individual events for the Pirates in their SCCAL dual meet Friday.

Higgins took first in the 100 free (1:06.19) and 200 IM (2:45.44), and Jaggar took first in the 100 back (1:14.50) and 500 free (6:19.40).

Harbor’s Serena Manildi took first in the 100 fly (1:11.75), and the Pirates won in the 200 free relay (2:04.38) and 200 medley relay (2:20.13).

The Falcons’ Annika Kiesby took first in the 100 breast (1:19.09) and 200 free (2:12.91).

Girls lacrosse

At Stevenson 19, Scotts Valley 9 >> Sofia Niklaus scored six goals, had 11 draw wins, and four draw controls in the Falcons’ loss on Friday.

Skylar Dufour scored one goal, had three assists, and had six draw controls for the Falcons (4-2). Erin Szymanski and Dillon Fiorita each scored a goal, and Lola Ritsema had two assists.

Macey Torres had eight goals, four draw controls and five ground balls for the Pirates. Sydney Holland had five goals and three ground balls, and Tatum Le Towt scored three goals.

Women’s tennis

UCSC 5, Hardin Simmons 2 >> Sara Beckman and Natalie Sprenger, and Sweden Van Houten and Chloe Wu won their doubles matches to give the Banana Slugs a 1-0 lead in their match in Belton, Texas, on Friday.

Beckman, Sprenger, Van Houten, and Wu also won their singles matches in straight sets for UCSC.

UCSC 5, Mary Hardin-Baylor 2 >> No. 1 Sara Beckman, No. 3 Melody Ghaffari, No. 5 Chloe Wu, and No. 6 Daniela Christian won singles matches for UCSC in their win in Belton, Texas, on Friday.

UCSC earned a sweep in doubles competition.

The Banana Slugs (10-6) face Southwestern (10-8) in Georgetown, Texas, on Saturday at 8 a.m.

Girls beach volleyball

Harbor 5, Castilleja 0 >> Seniors Isla Johnson and Maren O’Farrell won 21-11, 21-14 in the No. 1 pairs match, and the Pirates earned a sweep in their nonleague match Wednesday

Sophomore Cecile November and freshman Lise Corstorphine won 21-13, 21-9 at No. 2 for the Pirates (6-0).

Harbor also earned wins from sophomores Dylan Schutz and Liberty Niesen at No. 3, juniors Coco Castro and Marina Tucker at No. 4, and seniors Zoe and Sabine Kemos at No. 5.
