Age 98 Resident of Concord Lorene Caulfield passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 98. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend-known for her kindness, strength, wit and deep love of family.

Born in Rosston, Texas, Lorene grew up during the Great Depression and helped raise her younger siblings while working the cotton fields. At 15, she moved to Gainesville to live with her aunt and work in a beauty salon, sparking a lifelong career in cosmetology.

She married Charles Caulfield at 18 and traveled widely as a military wife, raising six children across the U.S. and Germany before settling in Concord, California. There, she opened her own salon and built lifelong friendships through her work and community involvement, including Soroptimist and Lioness clubs.

Lorene was always impeccably dressed, quick with a laugh, and endlessly devoted to her family. She loved bowling, dominoes, crossword puzzles, and shopping for others. She embodied grace, resilience, and generosity.

She is survived by her children Richard (Bonnie), David (Jan), Rachelle (Charlie), and Rosalinde (Mike), along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her son Bruce and daughter Roxanne.

Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, and in the strength and love she gave so freely. We are grateful and proud to call her ours.
