Bottle and can drive
Woman’s Life Chapter 855 conducts a continuous bottle and can drive with drop off locations in Richmond and Memphis to help those in the community in need. They also offer a pick up service for larger donations. For more information, call 586-318-4053.
Christmas concert
Bill Gaither’s All Is Bright Christmas Tour at 6 p.m. Nov. 24 at Bethesda Christian Church 14000 Metropolitan Parkway, Sterling Heights. Includes timeless gospel classics, as well as refreshing, inspiring new favorites, in addition to classic Christmas standards Tickets are available at gaither.com.
Craft Show
Eisenhower High School, 6500 25 Mile Road, Shelby Township, hosting Santa Craft Castle from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 23. More than 100 crafters will have items available. Admission is $3 per person; free for those ages five and under. Funds raised will benefit Eisenhowers instrumental music programs.
Fundraising events
The Rainbow Connection Celebration of Dreams event will be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 24 at the Palazzo Grande, 54660 Van Dyke Avenue, Shelby Township. Event features entertainment, holiday raffles, and its very popular “Gifts Galore” silent auction. Proceeds will help grant wishes for children with life threatening illnesses.
Hearing Loss program
Hearing Loss Association of America will hold a meeting from 1-3 p.m. Nov. 21 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper Ave., Clinton Township. Sid Kraizman, from the Michigan Alexander Graham Bell Association. He will tell us about the camp provided for children with hearing loss each summer. Octagon House events
The Loren Andrus Octagon House will be hosting their Victorian Christmas Celebration from noon-4 p.m. Nov. 16 and 17. Step back in time to the 1860’s and enjoy the Octagon House decorated for the Victorian Holiday. Take a self-guided tour of the house with docents available on each floor to assist you. Enjoy the many Christmas trees, wreaths and decorations throughout the house. Christmas items will be for sale to start your Christmas shopping, many of which are handmade by our volunteers. Don’t miss the Gift Shop which has many unique gift ideas including books by local authors and check out the silent auction in the Tea Room. Admission is $7, children under 4 and members are free.
