Eileen was raised in Pacific Grove until moving to Scotts Valley to attend Bethany Bible College. After graduating from college, she began work at AAA in Santa Cruz and was transferred to AAA in San Francisco, where she worked until her retirement.

She spent her vacations backpacking and camping in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and hiking in the Ventana Wilderness near Carmel Valley. Eileen liked to travel domestically and internationally, spending time in Israel, Mexico, and New Zealand.

After she moved toSan Francisco, she met the love of her life. She and Fred Carlos Godinez married in August of 1996. They eventually moved to Richmond, where they both retired and continued to travel for many years.

Eileen and Fred were very active in the church and were members of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Berkeley. She was an accomplished pianist and played at many church services.

After her outdoor activities were limited by cancer, she took up knitting. She became quite skilled and received a Certificate of Excellence from the Knitting Guild Association.

Eileen was a generous and loving person. She leaves behind many very close friends she made over the years.

She also regularly sponsored several charities.
