Person dies in crash at Cherryvale, South Boulder roads
A Boulder woman died in a crash Monday at the intersection of Cherryvale and South Boulder roads in the southeast Boulder area.
A 17-year-old woman from Boulder suffered fatal injuries in the two-vehicle crash, which occurred about 4:10 p.m. Monday, according to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Gabriel Moltrer. The other driver was identified as a 45-year-old man out of Boulder. He was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries but was not brought to a hospital, Moltrer said.
Molter said the woman was traveling in her Jeep on South Boulder Road and the F-150 driver was stopped at the intersection waiting to turn left. The F-150 then attempted to complete its left turn when the woman in the Jeep disregarded a red traffic signal and entered the intersection.
Upon impact, the Jeep rotated counterclockwise and overturned, striking its roof onto a utility pole, according to Moltrer. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the identification of the woman after notifying next of kin.
