El Cerrito Diana DeSimoni, 90, passed away peacefully in her El Cerrito home on February 1. Born in Oakland, she attended St. Elizabeth’s Catholic High School and soon met Fred, beginning a loving, lifelong marriage. Her early years were devoted to her family and in 1975 she started a 21 year career in Food Service for the RUSD, working most of those years at Portola Middle School.

Her zest for life extended beyond her career, embracing travel, golf, bowling and a very active social life with her family and life long friends. She often introduced herself as “Princess Diana”, making friends wherever she went.

Preceded in death by Fred, her husband of 67 years, Diana’s legacy lives on through her children, Rosana Watson, Anthony DeSimoni (Jeannie), Robert DeSimoni and Angela Samson (David), grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday February 24 at St.

John the Baptist Catholic Church in El Cerrito. Rosary will begin at 10am, followed by a Funeral Mass.
