Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying three people seen in a getaway car that left the scene of a fatal shooting of a Los Angeles man in Pico Rivera two years ago.
They released a sketch of one of the suspects in the shooting and still photos of the suspect’s silver car Thursday.
Investigators don’t yet know what role this man played in the shooting, according to sheriff’s Lt. Daniel Vizcarra.
Shortly before midnight April 21, 2023, deputies got a call about a gunshot victim in the 9400 block of Stephens Street, Vizcarra said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
German Gomez Medina, 32, died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The motive behind the slaying is still a mystery.
Surveillance video showed the suspect’s car heading west on Stephens Street toward Durfee Avenue and out of view. There were several people in the car, Vizcarra said.
Three of them have been described; two men wearing baseball caps with the letter “P” and the third a female.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the case to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go to lacrimestoppers.org
