The Colorado women’s basketball program has landed a dynamic guard for its 2025 recruiting class.

On Tuesday night, Erianna Gooden from Northside High School in Fort Smith, Ark., announced her verbal commitment to the Buffaloes and head coach JR Payne.

A 6-foot senior, Gooden chose CU over Columbia, Creighton, Missouri State, Oklahoma State and UNLV.

A varsity starter since her freshman year at Northside, Gooden has averaged 15.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.6 steals in her prep career. Last year as a junior, she averaged 19.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.5 steals and earned all-state honors.

Gooden is the second member of CU’s 2025 recruiting class.

On Aug. 27, Sophie Zadel, a 6-foot-4 power forward from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, Texas, announced her verbal commitment to the Buffs. She averaged 14.5 points and 10.6 rebounds as a junior last year.

Zadel visited Miami, Oklahoma State and others before committing to CU.
