READING HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
Two area executives have joined the Reading Hospital Foundation Board of Directors
Michael Stern, president and CEO at Tower Health, and Natashja Szortyka, philanthropy coordinator at Quaker Maid Meats, will serve four-year terms on the Foundation board. A non-profit organization, the Foundation supports Reading Hospital through contributions that make vital projects, programs, and services possible.
Stern joined Tower Health in 2022 as executive vice president and chief operating officer before transitioning to president and CEO in February 2025. He has more than 20 years of senior healthcare executive experience and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds a Master of Health Administration, which he earned through a collaborative program at Clark University and the University of Massachusetts Medical School, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from Hofstra University.
Szortyka has a strong commitment to community service. For the past six years, she has volunteered at Mary’s Shelter, where she has played a pivotal role as chair of the development committee and has also served as board chair for the past two years. She received her MBA from Alvernia University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater from Stetson University in DeLand, Fla.
STEVENS & LEE COMPANIES
Andrew J. Reilly has joined the Stevens & Lee Companies as Of Counsel and will serve as senior advisor and assistant general counsel to GSL Public Strategies Group, the platform’s government consulting, government affairs and corporate and crisis communications firm.
Reilly brings decades of legal, civic and business leadership experience and is skilled in helping clients to work with state and local government. He has served in pivotal roles for the Republican Party in Pennsylvania and is currently the Republican national committeeman for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and southeast caucus chair for the Republican Party of Pennsylvania. He previously served as secretary of the state Republican Party. Reilly was a member of Pennsylvania’s Electoral College in the 2016 and 2024 presidential elections and a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2016, 2020 and 2024.
Elected to serve two terms as a Delaware County councilman (2000 to 2008), Reilly led regional revitalization efforts that resulted in major redevelopment projects along the Delaware River, including Harrah’s Casino and Racetrack and Subaru Park Soccer stadium, and the preservation of hundreds of acres of open space across Delaware County. In 2012, he was appointed by Gov. Tom Corbett to serve a five-year term as a commissioner of the Delaware River Port Authority.
An experienced litigator, Reilly represents municipal entities, municipal authorities, businesses and individuals. He was appointed to the Federal Magistrate Selection Panel in 2005 as a member of a Hearing Panel for the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board and was appointed by U.S. Senator David McCormick as chairman of the commission to review and recommend candidates for U.S Attorney and U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
He has served on the boards of many educational, medical and charitable organizations, as well as zoning, economic development and public finance organizations. He is a founding board member and pro bono solicitor for the Pennsylvania Veterans Museum.
BARLEY SNYDER
Attorney Catherine T. Begley has joined the firm of Barley Snyder. She brings experience and insight to the firm’s Business, Litigation and Food & Agribusiness groups, and is based out of the firm’s Malvern office.
Begley focuses her practice on helping clients navigate the complexities of crisis management, food and product contamination and recall, insurance coverage and casualty litigation matters. She also has experience counseling clients through arbitration, mediation and litigation matters, representing businesses and insurers in high-stakes litigation across the United States, and has counseled clients on their contractual and regulatory obligations. Begley joins Barley Snyder from an insurance coverage law firm. This background gives her unique perspective and strategic insight when advising and advocating for clients.
Begley received her Juris Doctor from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law after earning her undergraduate degree from Penn State University’s Schreyer Honors College. Begley is committed to community enrichment through her participation as an Alumni Mentor Volunteer for the Penn State Liberal Arts Alumni Mentor Program and Schreyer Honors College. She is also a member of the Mount Saint Joseph Academy Alumni Association.
BARLEY SNYDER
Barley Snyder partner Reilly S. Noetzel has been appointed vice chairman of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section.
The Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section is one of the association’s largest and most active groups, dedicated to advancing the practice and understanding of real estate, estate planning, probate, and trust law throughout the Commonwealth. The Section provides continuing legal education, legislative advocacy, publications, professional networking, and pro bono opportunities to its members. It also plays a critical role in reviewing and drafting legislation related to real property and estate law in Pennsylvania.
Noetzel previously received the Section’s 2020 Trailblazer Award, recognizing professionals who demonstrate legal excellence, active participation in bar association activities, and a strong commitment to pro bono service.
A partner in Barley Snyder’s Real Estate, Construction, Environment, Land Use and Municipal groups, Noetzel represents clients in all aspects of real estate transactions and development. He is also a licensed title agent. Beyond his practice, Noetzel serves on the boards of the Central Market Trust, the Penn Manor Education Foundation and the Lancaster Bar Association, where he also chairs its Real Estate Law Section. He represents Lancaster County in the PBA House of Delegates and chairs the ethics committee for the Building Industry Association of Lancaster County. In addition, Noetzel is a member of the Community Associations Institute Keystone Chapter and previously taught as an adjunct faculty member at Messiah University.
