Building a strong Longmont for all

Today, I’m announcing my candidacy for Longmont City Council, at large. As chair of the Community Action Program Board and a Transportation Advisory Board member, I’ve seen our city’s challenges firsthand.

Longmont faces critical issues: disappearing starter homes, transportation infrastructure strain, and small businesses needing support beyond downtown.

My vision focuses on four priorities:

First, addressing our housing crisis by championing missing middle housing development — townhomes and small-scale multifamily homes that provide affordable options while maintaining neighborhood character.

Second, implementing smart transportation solutions that reduce congestion while providing alternatives to driving, including advancing the Colo. 119 BRT connection and supporting neighborhood traffic mitigation.

Third, expanding business support throughout Longmont, reducing barriers for small businesses in all neighborhoods.

Finally, preserving what makes Longmont special — our mountain views, open spaces, and small-town feel — while accommodating thoughtful growth.

Growing up in a family that relied on government assistance, I learned the importance of community support systems. My campaign isn’t about partisan politics but building a Longmont that works for everyone.

Together, we can create a stronger Longmont for all.
