Legendary guitarist Pete Townshend of the Who has made a startling admission about the band’s recent firing of drummer Zak Starkey.
But he’s choosing his words carefully when it comes to singer Roger Daltrey.
Starkey was fired earlier this year after a London concert, then quickly reinstated, only to be permanently canned later.
“It’s been a mess,” Townshend told The i Paper.
He said of the Royal Albert Hall concert, “I couldn’t see anything wrong. What you see is a band who haven’t played together for a long time.
“I think Roger just got lost,” Townshend said.
“Roger’s finding it difficult. I have to be careful what I say about Roger because he gets angry if I say anything about him at all. He’ll be sacking me next. But that’s not to say that he sacked Zak. It’s a decision Roger and I tried to make together, but it kind of got out of hand.”
Leann Rimes’ teeth come loose during concert
LeAnn Rimes has apparently had some pretty darned good dental work in her time because her teeth look good.
Especially considering she has a bridge in the front.
That is something folks might not know if Rimes didn’t tell it or, perhaps, if they were not at her recent show where her teeth literally fell out. It sounds like kind of a nightmare, but Rimes can laugh about it now.
“We’re going to do a little storytime about how the show must go on,” the singer said in a video she shared to Instagram. “And this is the most epic example of how the show must go on.
“So last night, I was on stage in the middle of ‘One Way Ticket,’ ” she continued. “I feel something pop in my mouth. And if you’ve been around, you know I’ve had a lot of dental surgeries, and I have a bridge in the front. It fell out in the middle of my song last night.”
Rimes said she panicked and said, “Hold on,” before running to the side of the stage and popping the bridge back in.
“I just had to get real with everybody and tell them exactly what was happening or else I would have had to walk off stage,” she said. “And so, for the rest of the show, I was literally like this” (she made a motion like she was pressing on her teeth) “pushing my teeth in like every couple lines and singing.”
Rimes said it “was the most epic experience ever.”
