Francisco Lindor homered and drove in two runs, David Peterson pitched seven innings and New York moved within one win of a playoff berth with a victory over Milwaukee on Sunday. If either team sweeps, the Diamondbacks reach the playoffs but if the doubleheader is split, the Mets and Braves advance and Arizona is out.

ASTROS AT GUARDIANS

The regular season finale between the Cleveland and Houston was canceled after a lengthy delay, preventing Guardians third baseman José Ramírez from a shot at hitting his 40th home run and joining the exclusive 40-40 club.

With Houston set to open its AL wild-card series at home on Tuesday against Detroit, and with a forecast of steady rain expected for several more hours, the game never started and was called following a 3-hour, 5-minute delay.
