The Boulder Valley School District and St. Vrain Valley School District may have only housed two girls lacrosse teams this year, but they were teeming with talent. Their eight selections to CHSAA’s all-state teams proved as much.

Fairview, the area’s lone representative in Class 5A, boasted four of those selections after the 11-6 Knights bowed out in the second round of the state tournament.

Senior midfielder and Daily Camera player of the year Cami Johnson led the charge with the Knights’ only first team selection. Her 68 goals ranked her third in the classification, and she padded her stat sheet even more with 29 assists.

She ranked second in 5A, with 97 points, behind Columbine’s Erica Sawicki (99 points).

Sophomore draw specialist Gabby McCollester earned a spot on second team thanks to her dominance at center field. She won 163 draw controls and added 49 goals and 13 assists through Fairview’s 17 games.

Junior midfielder Finnley Dancy and sophomore defender Lucy Michaels highlighted the Fairview representation on honorable mention, as Dancy added 27 goals and 18 assists to Johnson’s impressive totals. Michaels played a key role in holding the Knights’ opponents to 140 goals throughout the season.

In Class 4A, Mead rightfully earned two spots on first team all-state after stealing the state championship in its first year of existence. The Mavericks added to their dominant inaugural appearance with a 16-2 record.

Senior midfielder Allie Hartman, the Longmont Times-Call player of the year, led the way on first team with 70 goals, 25 assists and 58 draw controls. Junior goalie Anne Booth, also a first teamer, was dominant in the cage as she recorded 128 saves and 94 goals against.

Junior attack Grace Weber, who made her way onto second team, added 30 goals, six assists and four ground balls. Senior attack Ellie Wilson joined her from honorable mention, after contributing 14 goals, four assists and 10 ground balls to the team’s title run.
