Herbert (Herb) Wipfler passed away April 26 at the age of 91.

Born near Heidelberg in Germany 1931, Herb immigrated to Ontario Canada in 1950, where he met his wife Anne and they married. They moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1964, where Herb was an early pioneer in the manufacturing and assembly of integrated circuits for Motorola.

In 1972, Herb continued west to Silicon Valley where he continued his craft at National Semiconductor, Nitron and Zilog helping to advance assembly, processes and scale for tiny transistors and integrated circuits.

Herb was preceded by son H. Brian Wipfler and is survived by his loving wife Anne, married 67 years, his oldest son Ron, and second oldest son Gary, his daughter- in-law Barbara, and four grand children, Brian, Nathaniel, Angela and Bridget.

Herb was laid to rest at St. Clare sanctuary at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos, CA.
