Third-seeded Marin Catholic advanced to the Northern California Regional Division III girls basketball semifinals with a 46-36 victory over No. 6 Menlo of Atherton on Thursday. The Wildcats (23-11) will face the winner Thursday’s game between No. 2 Shasta and No. 7 Moreau Catholic in Saturday’s semifinals. Meanwhile, Redwood’s postseason run ended Thursday night with a 68-61 loss to host California of San Ramon in the NorCal Division II quarterfinals. The No. 13 Giants finish the season with a 24-9 mark.

• Third-seeded Weed eliminated No. 6 St. Vincent de Paul, 58-37, in Wednesday’s opening round of the Northern California Regional Division VI playoffs. The Mustangs finished the season 17-13.

Boys basketball

Dylan Chelew scored a team-high 11 points as fifth-seeded St. Vincent de Paul advanced past No. 4 Sacramento Waldorf, 39-32, in Wednesday’s opening round of the Northern California Regional Division VI playoffs. St. Vincent is making its first run through the NorCal playoffs in program history.

Waldorf (27-4) took the advantage in the first half, but the Mustangs (20-11) flipped the script in the second half, outscoring the Waves, 23-14. George Chaput added eight points for the Mustangs, who face top-seeded Redding Christian on Saturday.

Girls lacrosse

Freshman Spencer White scored the game-winning goal — and first of her varsity career — on her birthday to lift the Tam High girls lacrosse team to a 15-14 victory against Miramonte on Wednesday night.

Tessa Cohen, Sarah Cormier, and Quinlin Dayton led Tam with three goals each. Elllie McEvilley added a goal and three assists. White’s winner came inside the final 35 seconds of the game. Goalie Jamie Lemberg had five saves for the Red-tailed Hawks (2-1-1).

• Juniors Allison Marovich and Ruby Vree each scored three goals with an assist on Wednesday, but Terra Linda fell to Casa Grande, 13-12. Mia Elkington netted a pair of goals for the Trojans (1-2-1), and Natalie Jaworski had a goal and two assists.

Boys lacrosse

Undefeated Marin Catholic shut down Archie Williams, 21-0, on Wednesday. The Wildcats (3-0) are scheduled to host Valor Christian of Colorado on Saturday. The Peregrine Falcons (1-2) are slated to travel to Windsor on Tuesday.

Prep softball

Paige Murphy tossed a complete-game one-hitter as Archie Williams won its home opener 3-0 against Windsor on Thursday. Murphy walked two and struck out seven — also accounting for two hits, two RBIs and a run scored offensively. Murphy scored in the first inning on a single by Lila James then hit a two-run triple in the second to give herself all the scoring she would need.

• Eleanor Johnson allowed four hits and one earned run while striking out 13 in seven innings, leading Terra Linda to an 8-1 win against Piner on Thursday. Johnson was one of three players with two hits for TL, joining Lacey Graham and Naomi Lewis. Ava Lw had three RBIs for TL.

• San Rafael sustained its first loss of the season after Maria Carrillo scored seven times in the second inning en route to a 15-5 win. Sophia Everett and Thomara Drummer had two hits apiece for the Bulldogs. Cherise Castagne had three RBIs.

Boys track

Archer Diehl won the 800 meters and William Mulliken won the 1,600 to lift Archie Williams to a pair of victories on Wednesday, 73-55 over Marin Catholic and 91-32 over San Rafael.

Diehl finished in 2 minutes, 4.87 seconds while Mulliken crossed the finish line in 4:30.52. Pete-Frank Noble won both hurdles events for Archie Williams.

MC was led by Reece Barrett won won both sprints (11.64 and 23.99) to lead the Wildcats past San Rafael 95-27. Kyrie Marshall (triple jump) and Kristopher Villeda (shot put) were also winners for MC. Teo Cristea was a double winner for San Rafael in the 400 (53.77) and the 3,200 (10:37.88).

Girls track

Taryn Creedon (1:05.85), Ani Stieg (2:17.08), Brooke Lee (5:14.44), and Alyssa Silverstein (11:18.43) swept the middle distance and long distances events, in that order, to led Archie Williams to a pair of wins, 74-53 against MC and 105-5 over San Rafael on Wednesday.

Caroline Lozaw (300 hurdles, long jump) and Nola Miller (100 hurdles, triple jump) were also double winners for the Peregrine Falcons.

Angelique Addae won both sprints for MC to led the Wildcats past San Rafael 96-4. Addae won the 100 in 12.89 and the 200 in 27.70. Addae was also on two winning relay teams.

Prep baseball

Tam High put up a three-run third inning, but Sacred Heart Cathedral rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh to beat the Red-tailed Hawks 6-3 on Thursday. Senior Will Gensler doubled twice and drove in a run, and Tito Fierstein had a pair of hits.

• Julian Mackler hit a leadoff double and came around to score a few batters later but San Domenico was unable to muster much offense beyond that in a 17-3 loss to Sonoma Academy on Wednesday.

• Sophomore Nate Ballou had the only hit for Tomales in Wednesday’s 12-0 loss to Summerfield Waldorf. The Braves (0-1) are back to work on Tuesday against Victory Christian.

Boys golf

Jack Hilleboe shot a 2-under 34 at Peacock Gap to lead the Branson School to a 199-225 win over San Marin. Max Figueroa shot a 39 for the Mustangs.

• Charlie Wilhelm and Charlie Hansen tied for medalist honors with matching 1-under 35s Thursday at Peacock Gap to lift Marin Academy to a 153-195 victory over conference rival Bay School. Dylan Siegel shot a 38 for the Wildcats (2-0, 1-0 BCL West).

• Low medalist Theo Anderson shot a 1-over 37 to carry Marin Catholic to a 198-226 victory over Novato at Marin Country Club on Thursday. Johnny Malone and Carter Barrancio both shot 44 for the Hornets (2-1).

Boys tennis

Oliver Pool, Milo Reyes, and Alexander Chrisfort were winners at Nos. 1-3 singles as San Marin outlasted Tam for a 4-3 victory.

The scored was tied 3-3 when darkness halted play with No. 1 doubles still on the court Tuesday. Tomas Prada and Paden Hou pulled out a 5-7, 6-4, 10-7 victory.

• Bhwan Medidi rallied for a three-set win at the top of the singles ladder to lead Terra Linda past rival San Rafael, 5-2, on Thursday. Medidi beat the Bulldogs’ Forrest Reilly 4-6, 7-5, 10-8. The Trojans earned a two-set win at No. 2 singles by Rupert Atkins, and a default win at No. 4 singles. San Rafael’s Avi Levin won in straight sets at No. 3 singles, and the teams split doubles play.

• Casra Afsharipour, Lukas Berger and Tugdual Ricordel earned straight set wins at Nos. 1-3 singles to lead Redwood past Archie Williams, 6-1, on Thursday. Porter Cook picked up the win for the Peregrine Falcons at No. 4 singles.
