Age 87, of Saint Paul A marvelous husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, greatgrandfather and poet died on February 5, 2025.
Born Saint Paul in 1937 to John and Catherine Kovarik, was also cared for by several family members, including his Uncles Paul and Bud growing up.
Don was a self-starter, and worked his way through life with passion, kindness and faith. A sensational dancing partner to his wife of 65 years, a deep connection for poetry, keeping a wonderful circle of friends and neighbors. He truly enjoyed being involved with his grandkids, and greatgranddaughter attending a record number of concerts, games and events. Don graduated from Cretin High School in 1955 and Metro State University and had a 36-year career at 3M and worked another 7-years at Scales Advertising .Don was never far from his bride’s side, loving his family, baseball, the garden in their backyard and his community at St Stan’s.
Don is preceded in death by his parents John and Catherine; and his stepmother Joyce Kovarik. Don is survived by his wife Barbara of 65 years; siblings Kevin, Frank, Karen and Beth; children Steve (Alex), Dan (Gina) and Sue; grandchildren Oliver, Sylvia, Johnny, Joseph, Isabella and Krystal; and greatgrandchild Serenity.
Visitation is on Tuesday, February 18th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Mass from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
